Listen to the Music!
I am not putting too many of my songs online yet, mostly because I haven't properly recorded them. But some songs, the most important ones, must be shared. For now, I am including a few songs for you to listen to or download.
FUN HITS
Gin in My Eye. Inspired from true events. Sam Risho drinking Gin & Tonic, and the lime fell
in his eye. Tragic? Never! Another Rocky Mountain River Band song came into being!!!
Lukey. O Lukey! I do not want you to go!!! :) Luke is JoJo's son, three years old at the time of the song's creating, March 18, 2007.
Two Shirts and a Hammer. This song sprang into being over Christmas 2006 when Malcolm Murfin, my brother Abe and I were talking about river trips. Malcolm said, "I lost two shirts and a hammer on my canoe trip!" and I said, "Hey! That sounds like a country song!" so I grabbed my guitar and the Rocky Mountain River Band was born! This song is sung by yours truly, Abe, Malcolm, Sam, Gary, Elise, Joyce, Mom, Michelle, and probably more that I'm forgetting right now. Enjoy!!!
Big Will. Written in 1997 for my friend William Yu, on his birthday, this song was recently re-recorded for everyone's enjoyment. Will, I hope you like it!!! :D
Blue Skies. What song would be perfect for a sunny day at the beach? Written on a gorgeous Saturday at the beach in 2006, this song captured exactly Vancouver sunny days. Even the people around us were smiling and singing it hours afterward! Thanks to Tim Harris who encouraged me to keep pursuing the "big toe" line! :) Yeah! Wake me, 'cause I'm dreamin...
Goodbye to the Nachos. What is the perfect way to say goodbye to dear friends, leaving for El Salvador? It's got to be both fun and touching. This is the song I sang David & Susanna Nacho in September 2006 at their going away party.
THOUGHTFUL SONGS
Daydreamin'. This song was written on September 20, 2006. Sometimes you can't be present 'cause you're focused on unreality.
Tumult. Written August 22, 2006. This song comes out of a place of questioning why life can be hard. What do you do when the storms of life hit?
For You. This song was written in mid-January, 2006, when Alice was trying to figure out whether to break up or not. I wrote this song, about the struggle of loving someone when the feelings are gone.
I Am Lonely. Written in the fall of 2005, in the midst of feeling like a single man, though married, and also knowing true identity must be found alone.
OTHERS' SONGS
I Will Call Upon the Lord. Well, I wanted to be able to listen to this song, so I recorded it the way I wanted to hear it. Bluesy. Yeah, baby!
Ephraim Risho lives in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
